FAQ's

1. Can I disassemble my closet vault?
Yes, your closet vault disassembles in minutes, so you can easily relocate it to another room to create a different bedroom closet safe or take it with you when you move.

2. How much fire protection do I get with SnapSafe?
You get a full 1½” of ceramic fiber fire protection rated at 2300° degrees for one-hour, not just drywall like some fire protection safes. In addition it features door seals that expand during a fire to seal the contents from hot air and water damage.

3. Do SnapSafe Closet Vaults meet California fire and theft protection specifications?
Yes. If properly bolted down SnapSafe Closet Vaults meet the California protection specifications for safes and security cabinets.

4. Do I need double fire protection for irreplaceable documents?
Your SnapSafe fire protection is rated at 2300°F for one-hour to provide dependable document security. However, we recommend that for home safes and security vaults that store important paperwork, you should first put important papers in a fire resistant document box, like the SnapSafe Fire Box, and then put the box in the safe for extra protection.

5. Can I move and assemble my closet vault by myself?
Yes, you can assemble and move the components of our closet vaults by yourself if you are able to safely move the door portion of the closet vault by yourself. The Titan doors weighs 90-pounds. The Little Titan door weighs much less. However, we recommend that you have a friend help you.

6. How long will it take to assemble my closet vault, and will I need any tools?
Assembly takes about 30-minutes or less, and the Kwik-Lock Assembly System requires no tools. Each piece is clearly labeled to make assembly simple and intuitive.

7. Should I bolt down my SnapSafe?
Yes. We recommend bolting your closet vault to the floor using two ¼” wedge anchor concrete bolts through the predrilled holes in the bottom of the closet vault.

8. Can I install a dehumidifier in my SnapSafe closet vault Closet Vault?
Yes, there are two predrilled holes in the bottom of the closet vault that will accommodate a dehumidifier.

9. What additional forced-entry barriers does my closet vault provide?
Our safes feature "A Non Breach Seal" dead bolt protection on the hinge side of the door. This dead bolt design effectively eliminates hinge prying or cutting. It provides the most secured seal the closet vault has - virtually steel-behind-steel almost ½ thick. You CANNOT get the door off the frame by cutting the hinges when the door closed. This is the way major commercial safes are made. The SnapSafe Titan and Little Titan turn any closet into a hidden security vault.

10. Why a SecuRam™ Electronic Lock instead of a mechanical lock?

  1. SecuRam is a leading manufacturer of high quality electronic security commercial and residential for safes, vaults and safety deposit boxes.
  2. UL listed – SecuRam locks are built to have a failure rate of less than 0.3%. Every unit undergoes a rigorous aging test for 2000 cycles.
  3. Patented heavy duty Electronic Swing-bolt Actuator - The average current of the motor is near 100mA, yet energy consumption is very low. It takes only 0.1 seconds for the motor to unlock or lock.
  4. Code Sharing - With a mechanical lock, once the combination has been set, it is expensive to change the code. SnapSafe owners can easily change the default code to their own unique combination code with the SecuRam lock.
  5. Automatic Locking - With a mechanical lock, if you do not physically spin the dial each time you close the door, the lock stays in the open position, even if the door is closed. After 6 seconds, the SecuRam ECSL-0601A locks automatically.
  6. Long Battery Life - The battery only needs to be changed once a year. A new Duracell or Energizer battery will last up to 20,000 cycles and is completely accessible while the door is locked due to its convenient front sliding mounting.
  7. Non-volatile memory - The combination code is retained even if the battery has gone dead and is no longer powering the lock.
  8. Stainless Steel Construction - Entry pad housing and components are constructed of stainless steel for maximum durability and reliability.

11. What if the batteries run down on a closet vault with an electronic lock?
All of SnapSafe Closet Vaults are combination safes that feature electronic locks with non-volatile memory. This means your combination code is retained even if the battery has gone dead and is no longer powering the lock. If this happens, simply replace the battery. For added security, you can even deliberately remove the batteries from the lock and then replace it when you need access to the safe.

12. What if I lose the combination to my closet vault?
Our Technical Support at 1-800-342-3033 Ext. 357 will help you once you have completed a Master Reset Code Request Form. This form can be faxed during regular business hours and must be returned completed along with a copy of a valid State ID. You will then be given a secured code that lets you reset the closet vault to its original factory setting. THIS CODE DOES NOT OPEN THE CLOSET VAULT. Once this step is complete, you will be given further instructions to open the closet vault. A fee of $75 will be charged to the owner’s credit card for this service.

13. How much will I be charged for shipping?

What’s more, assembled safes are only delivered to the curb. Your SnapSafe Closet Vault is delivered right to your "threshold" door or garage door.
